During the late nineties and early noughties, the Saab convertible was outselling it's competitors as the most popular convertible car on the market. Saab certainly knows a thing or two about convertibles having always had a soft-top in its model line up since 1985.

The maker suggests various ways to apply – we tried the recommended method. This meant dampening the hood, painting on the cleaner, leaving it for 20 minutes, then agitating it with warm water and a cloth, before rinsing. The results were excellent, with light and stubborn marks alike disappearing in one single pass.
VerdictSo, there you go. Auto Express has recommended the top product because it has a sponge, and confirmed in the same breath that Renovo is the superior product!
It was a close run thing between Autoglym’s Cabriolet Fabric Hood Cleaning Kit and the Renovo Soft Top Canvas Cleaner. But ultimately, Autoglym got the nod, as its large sponge made the cleaner more simple to use on those irritating day-to-day markings – even though Renovo was perhaps the better stain remover outright.
Autoglym may be the big brand name that is associated with Aston Martin, but we do not understand why you should pay twenty quid to subsidise their marketing (and a cheap sponge) when we know, and you now know (and AE knows) that Renovo canvas hood cleaner is the superior product.
