Saab Power Outlet Instructions

Many thanks to Bob from Massachusetts who called me today to advise that Saab did not enclose fitting instructions with the power outlet kit that he ordered.

I recently fitted one of these kits to my Saab 9-5 and it has proved invaluable.  It means that I can run my Coolbox to keep food and drinks cool, or I can power and recharge a mobile telephone or laptop computer, or any other device, via an inverter (you can pick these up from Maplin in the UK and Radio Shack, I'd expect, in the USA).

As a service to Bob, and to all of our other customers, I thought I'd post the pdf instructions here for download.  Fitting is a fairly straightforward job and this is a marvellous little upgrade for your Saab.

Here are the Saab power outlet instructions:

For anyone who has not yet done this upgrade on their Saab, then you can purchase your Saab Power Outlet kit from Elkparts.

New Saab Engine Oil. It's GM!

Saab is now supplying just one oil for all engines as opposed to the previous specification of different oils and grades for different engines.

The previous choice for high output turbo engines was SAE 0W/30 - this has now been superseded to SAE 5W/30.  Both are fully synthetic engine oils.

Saab advises that the SAE 5W/30 engine oil is now to be used in all Saab petrol and diesel engines.

Another point to note is that oil is available in one-litre and five - up from four - litre cartons.

Saab has a limited quantity of SAE 0W/30 engine oil available, but when stocks have been depleted this will supersede over to 5W/30.  0W/30 engine oil is already out of stock in the five-litre carton size.

Royal Mail Delays Griffins

The silver griffins have landed... but no thanks to Royal Mail who delivered a guaranteed delivery 6 minutes short of 24 hours late.

The postmen are revolting - wildcat (illegal) strike actions at a number of sorting offices following a four-day official strike and, if the CWU has its way, further official strike action next week.  The Royal Mail itself is seeking an injunction to prevent further action, meanwhile business and their customers continue to suffer as a result.

All outstanding orders are in the process of being fulfilled and we now have plenty of stock from our supplier.  Let's hope that Royal Mail fulfils its side of the bargain and delivers what we pay them to deliver.

Saab 9-5 Dash Panel Installation Instructions

The Saab 9-5 carbon-fibre dash panel is a straight forward replacement for your standard plastic, walnut or aluminium effect dash panel.

The Saab carbon-fibre dash features genuine, real, kosher, authentic carbon-fibre and it is a genuine Saab accessory.

What's more, the Saab carbon fibre dash is available at less than one third of the current retail price, from Elkparts, for a genuine, brand new product.

Since a number of customers have placed orders for this accessory, we thought it wise to make available the Saab 9-5 dash panel installation instructions (208kb pdf) for the purpose of upgrading your dash panel.  These instructions are applicable to all Saab 9-5 dash panels (model years 1998 to 2005) regardless or not of whether your dash is carbon-fibre.

Royal Mail Postal Strikes

Talks between the Communication Workers' Union and the Royal Mail have, again, broken down and further strikes have been announced from next week.

The current striking period is due to end this evening, with striking postmen returning to work to collect post from Elkparts tomorrow afternoon (10th October).

It has, unfortunately, been reported in the news that the backlog of post caused by the disruption of last four days of strike action is likely to take a number of days to resolve.  Therefore, postal deliveries look set to be erratic for a little while yet.

Please note that all orders weighing in excess of 2kg will be sent buy courier as a matter of course.  If you are only placing a small order of less than 2kg, we can upgrade your order to courier delivery for an additional small fee.  Please state on your order notes if you wish to upgrade to courier delivery.

We apologies for the disruption in the delivery of small orders but this is, unfortunately, beyond our control.

Saab Turbo X Notepad Accessory

New in at Saab Expressions, today, is the Saab Turbo X notepad.  That essential of all vehicle accessories.

This is a spiral-bound notepad with a shiny black cover embossed with silver foiled Turbo X logo.

120 pages of 120gsm paper.

The Griffins Are Coming!

After a short wait, we can announce that the silver griffin stickers will be back in stock during the course of the week.

We will be working hard to fulfill all outstanding orders for this accessory.

Standing at just 50mm (two inches) high, these are great way to enhance your Saab.  We find that many customers choose to mount them just above the indicator repeaters on the front wings (fenders).

Saab 9-3 / GM900 Dash Panel Install Instructions

The Saab carbon fibre dash panel is the most attractive dash panel available for your Saab 9-3 and has the added bonus of being able to fit the GM900 models without any modification.

This genuine Saab product features real carbon fibre and suits the interior of your Saab much better than the plain grey plastic panel or the rather staid walnut veneer dash.

Saab Emblems

It seems to me that Saab bonnet and boot (hood and trunk) emblems can sometimes lose some or all of their colour.

What's more, it happens to Saabs as young as two or three years old.  That's no age.
